Ahh, the colourful world of the Frooogs!

In early 2022, a small team of five creator( including myself) was commissioned by Guy Laliberté to imagine and build an entirely new frog mythology from the ground up. In just five weeks, we developed a rich universe composed of seven distinct frog tribes, each with its own attributes, way of life, personality, tribal colours, social roles, and unique interactions with humans. This expansive world-building effort was brought together in what we called the Frooogs Bible, a fully illustrated compendium that captured the depth and spirit of this new lore (the bible is available upon request only). The idea behind this adventure was to create the basis of what could later become live theatrical shows, comic books, movies, you name it.

For a little while, it stayed like that, not really knowing what was going to happen with the project. Until Guy called me and he had a plan: The first real life reveal of the Frooogs was gonna be at… Burning Man!

And it was not going to be small. In short, under the direction of Guy and JF Bouchard and the collaboration of our team in Las Vegas, I had to imagine, design, produce and deliver 75 vehicles (15 RVs and 60 support vehicles), each uniquely fully wrapped creating a one-of-a-kind nomadic village. I had 9 months to do it. And I did it. And then I went to Burning man.

Below is a visual breakdown of this wild project, welcome to the Frooogs Camp!

The Idea

The idea behind the Frooogs Camp was to create a true nomadic village that could travel to any destination and be fully autonomous. At that, there was 17 RV’s and around 60 support vehicles that included: A full kitchen, a huge dining room, bathrooms, showers, generators, a bar, a stage and a massive events tent. Everything was wrapped in colourful and unique prints. My take on wrapping these vehicles was to create a kind of fresco where every side was to be different, following a specific artistic direction. in short, nothing was ever repeated and each vehicle was telling a story. The first iteration was at Burning Man 2023 (yeah the muddy one), then the camp went to the Super Bowl in Vegas, The F1 race in Vegas and EDC. Below are some images of these moments, showcasing my visual work :) (Full credit: most of these images were shot by Jimmy Hamelin)
